Additive and Dye Injection Equipment

Injection is the process of combining two or more products in “slugs” at a fixed interval. It is typically used to combine products in low concentrations (< 2%) or at low flow rates. Common applications included dye injection and customer specific fuel additives.

Smart Injector – refers to an injector with a controller capable of maintaining the injector process without any additional control hardware.

Dumb Injector – refers to an injector without a controller that is operated by “some other” piece of control hardware (i.e. Multiload or PLC)

- High Volume (typically used for bio-diesel)
- Specialty Type (high viscosity, high pressure (mercaptan), ultra-low volume)

Inline Blending

Blending is the process of combining two or more products in a “continuous” stream at a given ratio.
Typically used to combine products in high concentrations (> 5%) or at higher flow rates. Common
applications include ethanol and biodiesel.

Types:

- Wild Stream (typically used for bio-diesel and ethanol)
- Inline (pipeline)
